| About Us
The idea of reproducing decorative items for the secret garden or patio courtyard started a long time ago with the passion my father has for the Creole buildings in the South. His collection began at age 17 when he purchased his first French Colonial oil jar. Through the years he collected sugar kettles, oil jars, Flambeau's and unusual artistic architectural elements that lend an air of mystery to a garden. |

Several years ago he reproduced objects from his collection for sale to help in the restoration and preservation of Laura Plantation, a Creole Plantation in Vacherie, Louisiana; today voted one of the most important historical tours in America.
My father built his first courtyard at age 17 and as a hobby fortunately was able to create six more; the last two in La Jolla and Montecito, California. His Vieux Carre courtyard with an abundance of palms and banana trees is considered the most beautiful courtyard in the old quarter in New Orleans.
The restoration of original furnishings, architectural elements, art and ornaments for the residence inspired the Montecito Design product line in 2006. |
