PRISCILLA SUSAN BURY is
most famous for her renowned collection of watercolor paintings
of AMARYLLIS and related lilies in the early 1800's. Her fifty watercolors were illustrated
in seventy-nine books published between 1831 and 1834. The
hand colored engravings are most important as they were done by
ROBERT HAVELL in London at the time he was also engraving the illustrations
for AUDUBON’S BIRDS OF AMERICA.
